It just wouldn't do for me to work there....I'd to want to take chicks home all the time!

It seems to me that the "Hatchery Business" requires not only a LOT of long hours WORK, but also a large committment of Capital and Earnings put back into the Business.....just to REMAIN in Business ( a Common thing in REAL BUSINESS)..unlike Madoff's stuff!

THANKS to those of you who have left comments!

I suspect that MANY of us understand our OWN HARD WORK, but haven't noticed that many others WORK HARD ALSO....

In a "slack economy" it is EASY to "blame" business. BUT, the TRUTH is "Business is US", whether you work for the Gov't (business tax dollars) or work for a research foundation (funded by business and gov't ......tax money)

We cannot HAVE what we do not PRODUCE. Hopefully, we can PRODUCE more than we consume ourselves...thereby having the ability to help others.

That was so cool! i found out that my great-great-grandparents owned a hatcher in illinois in the 1930's, but it burned down in the 1950's. I want to make that my retirement job! i want to open a small hatchery!

Yes, I have been to the Cackle site many times. I, too, was impressed and educated. I am fortunate enough to live about 100 miles from Cackle, but have never made it there yet.

By the way .... Did you order their catalog?
