He is past due but aperntly behind as he is bleeding , He pipped yesterday afternoon at the wrong end of the egg and aperntly thru a blood vessele or something because the pip was bloody, I decided to check on him , he was alive but kinda stuck because of the bood but it looked like there were still vessles so I went to put him back and i dropped him .
Im done done done , ill just stick with my 19 buttons 4 cortunix and 1 baby chick i hatched last week and hope that the silkies i have du in 2 weeks will do well

I completely understand where you're coming from, I use to raise lizards and the hatching process is what got me out of it, I didn't like when the little ones didn't make it out of their egg and end up dying. After two years of it, I decided to get out of it completely, it was just too hard to watch.

I'm sorry you are having a sad time. It's hard to see those poor little things suffer.
You can always try hatching under a broody instead of an incubator. I've found that, despite our diligence and knowledge, we can't come close to the excellent job the momma hen can do.

Yup already know a couple people that make chicken diapers , saddles , leashes even

He is still peeping away in there , I cant bealve he is still alive , he has been pipped for about 20 hours , hit a blood vessle on his own got stuck , dropped and bleed not a huge amount but enough to probly weaken him and he is still here , Its breaking my heart I almost wish he would give in already so he dosnt have to sit there getting weaker and weaker. I cant help him out because there are still blood vessles obvously . I feel so bad for hmm I think Ill name him any ideas you guys , I think anything that fights this hard weather or not they make it deaserves a good name

I hope your little chick is okay.

I'm really interested to see what a house chicken is like. I'd suggest making sure it imprints on you. When I had a pet goose, someone suggested that I raise it a silkie chicken to keep it company while I was gone.

I had no knowledge of chickens at the time. I hear silkies are wonderful pets.

he cant get out the blood seems to have glued him into the egg and I cant help him out yet because there are still a couple huge ropey viens , I dont get why he pipped befor he was ready , he nicked the first vien , its been more then 30 hours I keep checking every 5-6 hours hopeing the viens have shrunk up but they havent , Is there any kinda egg condetion that keeps the viens from shrivleing like there sapose to , I cant see his tummy so I cant tell you if all his yolk is absorbed all I can say as he seems very ready and willing to come out but he cant becuase of the viens in the membrane today is day 23. Comeon everyone root for this chick ....
