So very glad to hear that Zane is doing better! THat is so sweet that having one of his ladies visit him cheered him up (brightened his day) (or at least that's what I thought of his flirting behavior). He's a really handsome guy.

Chicken feed! They pay chicken feed! Of course, that used to mean cheap.
Dad has been moved and is doing physical therapy several times a day now at the hospital. He'll be measured for a prosthesis, too. He's doing well, though he's emotional, but then, he's been more and more emotional as he's gotten up in years.
I'm glad your Dad is doing well. The emotional part is to be expected.
My brother had an accident a number of years ago and when the nurse came in to to the checks they all do she didn't know what to say or do. One of the checks they had to do was to check his feet and ankles for warmth and color to make sure circulation was fine. He had one leg bent at the knee and the foot tucked up under his other leg. When the nurse couldn't find that foot she got a funny look on her face (his records did not indicate amputation). He saw it and asked if she was looking for this, and stuck his foot out for her. So even nurses with experience find it a touchy subject to broach.
I saw Panda.. what a sweetie!! Glad to hear your Dad is doing better. It is a big adjustment, and hard for everyone to deal with. I am a nurse, with several amputee patients.. some of them joke about it, some never mention it, and some will talk your ear off about their experience. It will take awhile, but your Dad will find his niche.
