Diana, it's the red one, actually. Here is Zane getting his heat therapy today. His left hock is swollen-that is the foot that was originally swollen, too. However, when he does stand, he keeps lifting his right leg, over and over.

He did like his massage, but he's just skin and bones and he's losing color in his face. I'm getting more worried about him.

Cyn, Maybe I have missed this, but do both of his hip and leg joints move freely? Is it determined that this is his back?

try some sugar water mixed with the crumbles and avia charge in his water. give him these sugar crumbles

Yes, Suz, his joints move freely. I just dont have the expertise to determine what I'm feeling here, I guess. I know the left hock joint is swollen and that same foot was swollen, but that has subsided. That hip joint may be out of whack, but not sure what to do. We were manipulating it and heard a pop, but also, again, not sure it was a good pop or a bad pop. The legs seem very hot to me. I think it may be a twisted spine plus a hip joint.

Could be, Bert. Stacey's (gumpsgirl) vet actually consulted with her on the phone about Zane, can you believe it? Thank you so much, Stacey!

He said that the trauma could have caused an infection and Zane should be on tetracycline twice a day and gave me the dosage. Thank goodness I have the capsules here already. He said that hunching his back and his wings hanging down sounds like that is from the trauma of the fall. He recommended that I keep him warm, which I am doing with a red ultraviolet reptile heatlamp in the broody pen. Her vet says that basically, that's all I can really do for him, and time will tell. I am so, so grateful to Stacey and to everyone who is offering their support to my sweet Zane. We just gave him his first dose of antibiotics. We'll continue the massage every day and vitamins. If I can just keep him eating enough to not lose too much more weight, perhaps we can pull him through this.

Will he eat mealworms? You can get the freezedried ones at the petshop in the reptile aisle...They taste better with flavouring...don't ask...
