Well, Zane isn't doing as well today as he was yesterday. He couldn't stand, although he did try twice. He still is eating, but when we put him down after holding him, he doesn't uncurl his feet, a worrisome sign. His face has lost alot of color, too. Perhaps there is swelling somewhere along the spine that needs to go down, maybe a nerve is pinched or something, and time will fix that, but I don't know how to tell. How long can this go on? Hawkeye's son deserves dignity in his life, not laying in his own poop, slowly starving to death. Although he is eating, obviously he isn't eating near what he normally would be and he's lost all his muscle tone from laying prone like he is. I just don't know what to do. He's been on antibiotics for several days now and I plan to keep him on them for probably 10 days or so, like they normally recommend with chickens. After that, if he has not improved, I just dont want to think about it.
