I have a small suggestion for ya.
I have that Speckled Sussex that got mysteriously injured and couldn't walk.
I made her a sling from an old towel. Ct holes for her legs and used it to let her walk outside...what little walking she would do, but it helped her a little.
She is up and walking now.....clumsily, but up, nonetheless.
I'm having the same issue with her eating that you are having. I am shocked that she hasn't passed on by now, the bird hasn't eatin squat in the last week!
We gave her some watermelon and corn on the cob yesterday and she took to it. Keep mixing up what you are giving him...I resorted to ANYTHING I could think she might take to, even mashed potatoes and gravy, lol!
My heart sank as I read all of this thread, tears in my eyes.
Only a few of us here, that have been here for years know the heartache of having a hurt bird and not much means to go outside the home for care.
I spent almost a year on my dear Lucas, i lost him just days shy of his first birthday.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here....Have you tried the Selenuim/Vit E? It worked on my Lucas, with a combination of prednisone.
The Selenium I got at wal mart and I had the prednisone from one of my dogs ( this dog had the same disc issues you are talking about and that is what the vet gave).
If you need...I can send you some, I have extra, anything to help out!
Also, Please be careful with the massage....Sometimes that can make any kind of infection worse. The massage stimulates the blood flow in the body.
ANY help you need, I'm here, I know the fight to save that one special bird, and I know the devastation of losing one. I still miss my Lucas, he was one of a kind and I would give the world to have him back!
