I donāt understand what could cause this! I didnāt think it was normal to not have any eggs at all in over a week! They were laying great up until then! Do you know what could cause this and how I can fix it?I have 7 hens and 1 roster and they are laying just fine
Mine too. I just got my first egg 2 days ago in almost a month.Itās the time of the year, all of them do this. All 18 of my girls stopped and just now started. Just give them time, it may take a couple months.
Oh ok so this is normal for us because of location and season. I was starting to get really worried when I came on here and starting reading one thread about how many eggs people received for the day and saw everyone was still getting them! But I didnāt know where they were from so I figured Itād be best for me to post something. They look like they are going through a soft molt actually thereās feathers all over their coop and I JUST changed their bedding! Idk if you can see all the feathers I attached a photo to make sure theyāre def molting. The short daylight hours in the northern hemisphere can suppress laying at this time of year. My hens are all gearing up to lay right now after an almost two month break (we got an egg or two daily from 10 hens during that period). My new pullets began to lay and this past week some of the older ones joined so we are now up to 6 a day and climbing.
Stress, cold, and molting are other possible reasons for a lull in eggs, though such young birds often don't molt their first winter.
I didnāt see any of my hens feathers those are all of my pullets feathers.Oh ok so this is normal for us because of location and season.
