When I came home last night there was a silkie egg that was zipped(although not completely around). It's still kicking and squirming but hasn't made it's way out yet and it's been a little over 24 hours(that I know of). Should I be worried?
Thanks,
Madie

That does seem too long and having taken its time the membrane may have dried out enough to mean it can't move to continue unzipping. I had a baby quail do this recently. It was unzipping but taking forever. I thought it had finally hatched when there was almighty yelling coming from the incubator. No - it was very much stuck and very unhappy about it!

If it was me I'd jump in and help out. If it's unzipping there won't be any live veins to have to worry about.

Yes, help it out. Just finish the zip for it

I assisted, it appears fine. Anything concerning the yolk and veins was done, it is now out of the egg, with no shrink wrapping... I'm not really sure what happened, but for now, all is well and I will take that as it is for now.
