Zipped but not hatching - over 24 hours

So they are all out and I’ve given them some water. Two have feet that look like they are all curled up and they are having problems standing. It’s looking more like a positioning thing having been stuck in shell for 2 days more than a defect or so I’m hoping. Anyone has had this previously and did it resolve itself

If they don't uncurl in 24 hours you should tape them. Here is a thread that shows how I do it: Fixing Curled Toes in Chicks

and here is a video that shows the same:

When ever you open your incubator to remove the early chicks this will happen to your late hatching chicks. Happened to me so many times before I realized I was in too big of a hurry to remove the early hatchers. it still happens even though I adopted the 2 day rule. 48 hours after the first chick hatches I go in and get all the dry fluffy chicks and any left pipping I hand hatch. Although I give them a bit of time before I got back in and hand hatch them just in case they didn't get stuck to the membrane of the shell. They usually come out funny looking like some one gave them a bath in hair gel and it dried up.

Yes!!!! This was exactly how my chicks look like like sticky with hair gel and not fluffy at all. But alive so far and fingers crossed look like they’ll make it

did the other chicks peck them at first then leave them alone after investigating why they looked different. Thats how it always goes in my brooder after a hatch. I used to panic and start working on an emergency isolation brooder but it would stop before I could get it set up. Now I have an emergency 2nd brooder but its never used for the the Hair Gel chicks... they do fine once they find food and water.

Ohr I haven’t put them in the brooder yet. I’ll transfer shortly a bit nervous

I put them in a seperate brooder as they were getting badly picked on and blood was drawn from navel of one chuck. One’s club foot has resolved itself but the other two I had to tape. I’m really hoping for the best. These hair gel babies are not the most attractive one must say. Is this common for late hatches or manual hatches
