I have one hatched now. Dad was an EE, and mom a leghorn. When you go with the dad a pure Americauna, and mom the pure leghorn, you get Super Blue Egg layers. I went with what I had..and EE! I will get a pretty colored egg, and, she will lay often! Yes, she. :D

Well... good luck with the chicks, but of course there's no guarantee that the offspring will be colored egg layers. Not all EEs carry the blue egg gene - in my experience only 70-80% do. And many have only one copy, resulting in only 50% colored layer chicks.
