I have one hatched now. Dad was an EE, and mom a leghorn. When you go with the dad a pure Americauna, and mom the pure leghorn, you get Super Blue Egg layers. I went with what I had..and EE! I will get a pretty colored egg, and, she will lay often! Yes, she.

Well... good luck with the chicks, but of course there's no guarantee that the offspring will be colored egg layers. Not all EEs carry the blue egg gene - in my experience only 70-80% do. And many have only one copy, resulting in only 50% colored layer chicks.
