So my man and I just got back from visiting family. They have a farm, and as we were leaving, they gave us ALL of the day's eggs.... over 7 1/2 dozen DEEEElicious eggies. We were eggcited for the possible deeelicious recipies until my aunt went and reminded us they all are fertile eggs. O.O

Will set up incubator this morning. I've only ever "cooked" to hatching button and coturnix quails.... Going in the cooker today is 3 duck eggies(which may have been fertilized by my old pet duckko Gunter, yay), a boat load of guinea eggs, and a boat load of barnyard mix chicky eggs. Any tips? It has been over a year since I last incubated any sort of egg, and these will have staggered hatches... Also, am using a still air incubator. What height should I set the temp from, since the duck(and a couple of the chicken eggs) are *way* bigger than the guinea eggs.

Not going to set all of the eggs. Also will be nomming a bunch o tha tasty thangs. Thinking tasty fried eggy sammich for breakfast while setting up the incubator... bit of a warning to those I set "hatch, or I will eet yew"

The great news is that my man and I are close enough now to buying our own farm that we may be able to keep any duckies that hatch(I LOVE ducks, but had to give Gunter to my aunt on the farm about 2 years ago when we moved to the City of Bird Racists, that allows chickens etc, but NO DUCKS(grrr)).

DISCLAIMER: Gunter *actually* lives on the farm, that is not a euphamism for freezer camp. He is spoiled and loved and gets the best of being a pet and of being a farm duckie. :3
