I don't know if this is the cheapest, but I guess you can compare the answers you get to your question.

These are mealworms grown in the US (Florida) and not imported from China.
Please observe that for the smaller quantities, the packaging is a...
I got my Crested Cream Legbars from John Brekken in Loomis. He's very friendly and will talk to you about the health of his flock, if you would like to know. He's about 5 minutes away from Highway 80.

For all those worried about " … will my chicken ever lay an egg … "
This Welsumer is about 56 weeks old and laid her first egg today. She started an egg song in the fall, but stopped when the days grew shorter. Recently she started the egg song again, and then began squatting this past week...
I don't have any answers, but I have a Welsumer that is 53 or 54 weeks old and hasn't laid an egg. She started the egg song at the same time as her partner, probably at the end of summer, stopped for the winter, and just started up again. It seems to be a sympathetic song, and doesn't do it...

My bags of chicken treats had a "best if used by" date of January 2016. Although I...
My hens can't get enough dried mealworms.
I bought a large bag of Happy Hen mealworms when I got my first chicks, and it has lasted this long since the chickens weren't interested in them when they were little chicks and I didn't try again until they were grown. So, I was looking for a...
I'm not sure how long the weevil eggs take to hatch, but the bag is several months old.
The chickens have been getting sprouted seeds, including BOSS, for a while, as well as forage. Maybe that's why they have never been very interested in the scratch!
Thanks for that advice. I'm so new at this that the bag of scratch and the bag of DE were right next to each other in the same can!
For some reason, my chickens don't care for scratch much, and had more fun eating the weevils. I think there might have been weevil eggs in the bag of organic...
She has her own blog. I think she does some of the art, too, but I didn't see any with just a quick look.
