3 Svart Hona eggs made it to hatch, 5 silkies and 1 more pipped not sure which itll be yet. The 1 i helped out had yolk absorbed, she had pipped all the way through shell and both membranes at the wrong end of shell. She also had pupped through vein and it was bleeding through. I figured id help...

So this am around 6, this chicken pipped through the side. Seems not normal. No real progress in almost 7 hours. Leave it be or coach it out. I can see it still moving through the membrane.

2 hatched. 1 has a string attached to its belly. With a small blackish lump, black skin chicken. Got the first 1 out between pips because it was climbing all over the one that just hatched. Now 1 more is pecki g way out, cant pull injured baby out. What to do about the mysterious dragging stuff.

One more question... obviously im new to the hatch game. This is not normal is it? My baby chick who hatched about 3 hours ago seems a little wobbly, on closer inspection, it seems to not walk standing up it gets around legs bent kind of like pic shown. Legs arent splayed out though. Is it...

Yay. Came home to a freshly hatched Hona baby. Its still half way wet and awkward on its feet. Its peeping though so thats good. I have another of the 10 eggs peep a hole. Hoping for several overnight, so i can open and take the babies out to thw brooder, so they aren't in incubator too long.

So if this happens to a flock and one decides to cull them, can the chickens still be eaten? Or have to be disposed of or burned? Just curious.

A real break/pip in the egg this am and i have to work. Poor baby has no one to coach and cheer it out. Fingers crossed it makes it out ok and maybe my other 2 hatch as well while i am at work. 12.5 hours make for a long day when i have this happening at home.
