Is Zoey a Zane? 12 week EE

She might just be a moody girl :) I've had a lot of female EE's that act like that and look like your bird. I personally am inclined to believe that she is a Zoey :) You'll just have to wait for her to develop a little more to be able to know for absolute sure.

    eFowl? please help!

I've done some researching, and I believe you can request that your chicks be vaccinated. I think you have to pay for the vaccination though.

What breed and variety are these chickens.

Okay, here's what I have... 1. Blue Laced Wyandotte (like I said before) 2. I know I've seen this one before but I can't remember the name (sorry). 3. Either a Mottled Jap. Bantam or a Spangled Old English Bantam (the two are very similar) 4. Definitely a mix breed, I have never seen anything...

What breed and variety are these chickens.

They're beautiful! The first one is definitely a Blue Laced Wyandotte.....as for the rest, not sure, I think I might know what some of the others are too. I'll double check and get back to you.

Not Sure where to Place My Question!

Yeah, I'd say so... Production Reds are normally skinny, small, dull or pale red, and with a very pointed or small tail. Rhode Island Reds are large, dark, almost blackened but shiny red, brick-like in shape, with a very level, horizontal back that goes straight into the tail. That's how I...

    Frozen comb

The frostbite shouldn't be fatal, however, if it eases your mind then you could consult a vet. In my opinion they just need to get warm, to prevent the frostbite from getting worse. Definitely keep putting bag balm or Vaseline (whatever you prefer) on their combs, but if it were me I'd bring...

    helpless, and new.

Okay, first of all, how old is your bird? It could be any number of things, that's the problem. Worms maybe? They cause weight loss, appetite loss, diarrhea and dehydration. Roundworms can usually be treated easily with medication from a veterinarian. It can be fatal so it's important to seek...

    bloody vent..........please help fast

It could be prolapse. It's most common in laying hens, when they lay too big of an egg but is also found in chicks occasionally. If it looks like any of the internals are showing or coming out, use a Q-tip and gently push it back in. When this happened to my little bird I also rubbed a little...

Twitching of the head - almost seisure like

I don't know what caused it then. But if she were my bird I'd just go with the rule that as long as she can eat, drink, and move around, I'd leave it. The bird I had like that, stayed that way all her life and she was fine, she lived to be 9 and 1/2 years old. And if getting in the nest box is...

When to cull a sick hen

Like said, it is a personal choice. If there's no way of healing her then out of kindness I would put her out of her misery. If you do decide that that is what you'll do, then I can tell you how to put her down quickly and painlessly.

Twitching of the head - almost seisure like

I had a chicken like that. Her head twitched and sometimes she ran around in circles for minutes at a time with her head ticking to the side. These seizures were caused by a fall from a perch when she was younger. Do you have any high perches in your coop that your bird may have fallen from?
