    Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Hello all. It's been a while since I've been on but I have a question I need help with. I am currently using dirt/stray as my floor for my coops. I am thinking of using sand. Does anyone else use sand? I'm up by Erie and wonder if this is not a good idea being how cold it gets up here. Thanks

How is everyone doing? Sorry I've been quite busy with making party stuff for my nieces reception as well as cookies. I had a coon kill 11 of my chickens in the middle of all of this party stuff !! Boys was I ******! So I had to move them to the main coop. It was my banties and momma silkies...

Congratulations! It's so hard to leave them alone when you know there are peeps under there! I know! I just went out to check on them and good thing I did cause one of the empty shells had wrapped its self around another egg and it has a pop in it. Poor thing would not have been able to get out!

Wow!! You are very good! I don't really know a lot about chickens. But..... I do love them!! I guess mine are more like pets! ( my husband won't let me have dogs or cats but chickens are good!) I have like 30 right now. But more are hatching as I text this! We will have to keep in touch!

That's good to know. I do want a good layer. I'm new to chickens. I have only had mine for 1 year. Well a little over a year. But I'm so in love with them. I want to have several different colors of eggs. Mine will only be for "Pets" and eggs. Well what kind do you suggest for me to get to get...
