I'm a bit at a loss here. I bought a beautiful olive egger pullet this spring. Well now Flower has started to crow! I can't keep him in Arvada. What should I do? How do I make sure he doesn't go to a home for fighting?
When I look at him now I'm a bit embarrassed I had to hear him crow to...
a little update...after a week of calling chicken saloon they called us back. We told them what was going on and they asked us to take pictures of all the broken parts and send it to them. They said they would then send us replacement parts.
It certainly doesn't make up for the shoddy quality...
That is the truth! I have no idea why it never occurred to me to look up reviews on these coops. We call those kinds of missteps "stupid tax".
we are making the best of it. Using the existing run, disassembled and reconfigured, as a roof for the run we are building this weekend. Then we are...
This spring was my first time getting chicks. Knowing we needed a nice big coop and run for 8 chickens we ordered the ranch. Normally we are the DIY kinda people but we were feeling overwhelmed by all the coop possibilities as well as having to stay within city code so we went ahead and spent...
I sure wish I would have seen some of these reviews BEFORE I bought my coop and run. I bought the ranch this spring. They said this coop and run would be good for 10 - 15 chickens....I don't know what kind of birds they are thinking of but that run is tiny! As I said we got this coop in the...
I know I've seen it posted here but I can't seem to find it. I have a drake that is being a terrible bully ( to the point where none of my hens or ducks are laying anymore) and I think it's time to make him Christmas dinner.
Does anyone know where I can get this done. I'm in Arvada's but am...
We got our first egg yesterday! My 5 year old was SO excited to find it. I'm almost positive my black star named Star laid it (I checked everyone's vent).
How is everyone's gardens coming? I just got my first zucchini a few days ago.
Some kind of volunteer squash that showed up in one of my beds.
The hollyhocks I started from seed. I'm hoping they reseed on their own.
Got a few stink eyes today when I opened up the run to add greens.
Bunny the Easter egger checking to see what I was doing. She does this every time I open the run.
Bunny again (see a pattern?) she is a diva.
And Janet, I think she was worried I might take her kale.
Gotta brag on my birds a bit. I agree with the broccoli weirdness. Mine used to love it now they eat all the florets and leave the stems. All my birds LOVE the weeds I pull from my flower beds and any greens like kale and chard. My Easter egger is named Bunny and her favorite thing to do is peek...
I am worried my gold lace Wyandot isn't a 'Goldie' but a 'Gordon'. Any guesses on the sex. She is about 14 or 15 weeks old. She doesn't act mean but she also doesn't care for people much either.
I was really surprised they ate my chives too. They were planted right next it my basil so the chives could have just been dug up while they were eating the basil.
I let my ladies out yesterday to free range and they destroyed my herb garden... dug up and ate all my basil and chives, broke all my dill off at the ground and ate all my asparagus starts. So now I'm keeping them in their pen until I can figure out some fencing or something.
I keep telling...
