I think he looks like the birds I have seen called ginger or shojo in japanese but on pictures on the net he could also be a dark buff. The black tail and red body seems to get called a couple names. Pretty boy, 8 years old, well supposably they can live 13 years or so says the net.
I would think you would want a clean legged frizzle breed to cross with, anyhow that is the way I would go, as you willhave to work on leg length, body carriage, tail carriage/angle and wing angle which is plenty. I think the Serama might be short backed too so that would be another plus, in...
You could try putting a linner in the cage and then a small layer of sand... I am basing this on the sand for coops discussions on the forum, seems it absorbs well, and you just have to pooper scoop like for a kitty then. I think it is a courser sand that most folks use. Check out Got sand? You...
Yeah, they are what they are. My daughter's birds where all hatchery birds via the feed store (except for 2 ducks... but they where not SQ either), the Geese where excellent and winners (a hatchery fluke), but the chickens where definitely production quality.
Wow on how long their legs are, I would have thought it would be reversed when compairing the breeds. I was reading though there is an increasing # of JBs being born with intermediate leg length versus just long and short, so now it looks like there maybe additional genes that affect leg length...

Kết quả lai tạo như sau:
* 25% số trứng sẽ nhận được cả hai alen chân thấp. Trứng sẽ hư, không nở.
* 50% số trứng sẽ nhận được một alen chân thấp và một alen chân cao. Vì...
I am very currious about body and tail types availabe in USA, when I went to the Asian sites (mostly Japanese) I noted a bigger variety in body type, comb, tail styles and then those "true blacks" wow... I only see consistent 1 type in pics in USA, so show folks do the other types exist here? I...
Oh they look cute to me, but I am not a shower or breeder... the more I check out these little guys the more I like them. From what I could sort out of the Asian sites it seems the little rumpless also carry the short leg gene and that is preferred to long legged ones. Both breeds have me intrigued.
LOL that is one of the reasons I posted the names, some just translated super fun. I definetly see birds I have never seen before as JBs. There is even a standad sized breed in Japan that is also bred to have short legs like the JB.
