i found my narr. hen making a nest the other day and i was hoping she would go broody. but she lays an egg in the nest then leaves it. will she set on them whenever she reaches her magic number or will she continue to leave them?
okay so my hen just started laying and i got my second egg today, but both eggs have been in the middle of the floor. so my question is will she use the nest box when she is ready to go broody?

Yes, if they ever get into the coop they will wipe it out. But, fortunately, you rarely see them around here. They are a little larger than a red fox. So basically the size of a large dog.
the savage ultra mag 12 gauge turkey gun usually puts the hurtin on our predators, and for long range we got the marlin .22 mag or "my cannon" (remington 30-06, 180 grain)
okay so now another idea has popped in my head. theres a large pine forest behind the house, and i got the idea to try pine needles. they will be in my turkey coop, and part of a turkeys natural habitat is pine needles. so good idea? bad idea? what do you think?
hello all, im looking for some mature quail and any breed of good laying hen you might need to get rid of. I do not mind them being shipped. So let me hear your offers.
Uh oh, did i start an argument?
The reason i asked about mulch is because i can get a truck load free right beside my house and i thought it would be beter than going out and buying lots of shavings. (very large coop)
