I have looked at Japanese bantams! I'll do my research and figure out what to do in the spring. I don't have a hawk problem so I think they'll be good. I loved my polish, so I'm thinking I need a polish bantam
Well they can possibly make a variance so I can at least have a bit bigger coop and a few more chickens. It's $50 to do it! But it's worth it. So I'll be looking for some smaller chickens. Any suggestions of good bantams let me know! I've had silkies, seramas and Cochins before
Hi all. It's been awhile since I've been on. My town passed a law that you can have 6 chickens, no roosters. Unfortunately they have set outrageous setbacks for where the coop has to be and I can't keep my current set up as my coop is a bit of a chicken mansion.
It looks like my only options...
I'll look into a Quaker parrot. Cockatiels seem like good pets as I keep researching. There is a local pet store that gets birds from breeders so I may visit there and see what they have. I agree that I think the bird will pick me too
Thanks for your suggestions! My sister works as a zookeeper at Audubon zoo in New Orleans and is getting a sun conure. She cares for macaws and huge birds like emus at work so I know she would be fine with a bigger bird.
I think parakeets may be too small. I'll keep doing my research. I do...
Those of you who have indoor pet birds like parrots and such, what would you say is a good starter bird? I don't want anything too big, one that would be a good companion too.
I had a silkie hatch after pipping the wrong end and one leg is stuck backwards behind it and it won't stay underneath the chick. I don't think it's slipped tendon. The leg is complete stretched straight back and not bent.
I made the spraddle leg hobbles with vet wrap. But the chick won't walk...
Would anyone be interested in a few Mille fleur d'uccle chicks? I had a good hatch with shipped eggs and only plan on keeping a few. They're super cute and tiny! PM me if interested.
Be careful in this heat and humidity!
