    TWO Bielefelder Roosters- NW Georgia

Hello All! I am looking to rehome my Bielefelder Roosters. They're excellent flock leaders and a great deterrent to aerial predators due to their size! We currently have a total of 4 roosters which has become too large a number for our ladies. All of our boys get along well! They are truly...

Please help identify her problem/ illness

Thank you for your opinion. I was leaning towards a tumor when it first appeared. I am sure it hurts or is uncomfortable for her but she is eating and not acting depressed in any way. I think I am going to stop the Tylan injections and just continue with the baby aspirin until it is her time to...

Please help identify her problem/ illness

4 weeks ago our Bielefelder hen (just turned 1 yr) started limping. We immediately isolated her with a buddy from the rest of the flock and could find no signs injury/ bumblefoot. We decided to watch and wait. After 3 weeks there was still a limp, though some days looked better than others. I...

    A Bielefelder Thread !

Its been my experience they take a little longer to lay. I think the earliest one I had was 28 weeks. Mine have been laying quite well this winter, but we live in Georgia so the temps aren't as extreme. One thing to remember is the daylight hours, that's the biggest factor. They require 14...

    Raising Guinea Fowl 101

Wanted to update everyone that we rehomed our 3 male guineas, and kept the 3 females. The ladies don't even seem to notice at all. There is no more aggression towards the rooster they bloodied. The Guineas were raised from a day old with Bielefelder pullets, and have always roosted with the...

    Raising Guinea Fowl 101

I have six guineas that are 18 weeks old. For the longest they thought they were chickens. Based on calls I believe I have 3 males and 3 females. Just this past week they have been aggressive towards the others. A few days ago it was a hen, today they bloodied our favorite rooster. I was...
