My chickens always feel warm to me, not sure what their body temp really is but when I bathed them(for showing) I tried 103 as one book suggested and they were calm as could be, but when I tried 95 and the book suggested 90 they didn't like it at all.
It takes a while to soften dried blood, you...
We raised chickens to eat when I was in high school, the day they were prepared for the freezer I locked myself in my bedroom and refused to help and couldn't eat them.
Now with my allergies if I want chicken it has to be raised by us and prepared by us, so no perfumes or chemicals touch it...
Do you have them on medicated feed? Coccidiosis causes wet, bloody droppings. The bottom should be cleaned daily, hopefully the others wont bother it, if it's only a small area on the bottom.
We were free ranging some of our chickens.
We lost one rooster to a fox we think and pretty sure the fox got one of our hens during a thunderstorm, but we have also seen hawks chase our hens. We see them circling over head a lot.
We saw the fox sitting up near the coop watching the chickens one...
i dreamed i was holding a chick that was hatching, my husband informed me in the morning it was his nose.
sorry about no capitals, my right arm's kinda protesting being over used and bumped to much.
I took a red marker and drew around all the sections for water on the bottom of my plastic liner so I could see them a little better. It helps some but it is still a little hard to see water levels with the turner in there.
I found just moving them from the brooder to a box with a paper towel in the bottom and letting each rest in your hand until it jumps off works good and then back into the brooder letting them jump off your hand again. Some do like to linger much longer than others but they all get use to being...
You all haven't told what you had for vaccines, some of them could be affecting the chicks.
A lot of the boxes and plastics from China are moldy and that could kill the chicks too, not to mention there is a lot of perfume (toxic chemicals)in cardboard now.
We have three BO-one was broody all last year but kept breaking the eggs, one was never broody and the other was broody and a really good Mother. We have 4 Wheaten Ameraucanas one is broody, one is trying to be broody and the other two aren't and hopefully won't be for a little while, we would...
I have put dough in the microwave, after heating a bowl of water in it, that worked pretty good.
The oven you have to be very careful to only heat it for a little while and then shut it off(just till it's warm, not even 200) you don't want to bake it. you can put a pan of warm water on the...
My first bread was Challah bread as a young teenager. When we lived in Canada the law up there said all store bought bread had to have milk in it and we were lactose intolerant, so I baked every day. When we moved back to the States we got a bread machine and I set it to be ready every morning...
That is truly wonderful and miraculous, he is a very special man to have such support in heaven. The peace he must have felt with Jesus and his Mother right by his side, after all those years. Love truly never dies, nor we...........You have a gift from Heaven Alley hang onto him forever! And...
Still Praying also.
Between family and a cast I wouldn't be very motivated to come on and type. And if Davy woke up after being so sick she wouldn't take her eyes off him, I bet.
Believe The Lord is taking care of them,
Thank The Lord for taking care of them!
