I was curious as to how they turned out and what breed you ordered?

You got it backwards. A pullets feet will hang down. Cockeral will draw his feet up.

I do the hang test and it works most of the time. Hold the chick gently and let the feet hang down. Let it relax and lean it back and if the the legs stay down it's usually a pullet. If the legs draw up like it's scared to fall then it's a cockeral. Not 100% but it does work a good bit of the...

That picture is about 2 years old. She was was only 2 at the time. Ruby is a Ideal Hatchery Buckeye and although she doesn't lay the biggest eggs by far she has a great personality.

I've got one Buckeye hen named Ruby that I got from Ideal. She was a little slow to develop but she was a fighter. She now is very calm and even though she's a hatchery bird she is a great friendly bird.

I thought about checking it out but I'm not going to give Walmart the business over my local feed store. Walmart gets enough as it is and did I mention I hate going to Walmart for anything?
