I'm joining in too! I have five broody hens who I put a barnyard mix of eggs under them, about 3 doz. I put them under them on 5/18 and I have one peeping and the hens are all making noise! Its gonna be a good day!
You totally did the right thing in that instance! Culling is never going to be something I am gonna be comfortable with but it is way harder to watch it die slowly. Many hugs go out your way, Its never easy to have to do that kinda thing.
I have a little giant incubator and I have used it now for two hatches and it has worked just fine. I went to plug it in the other day and the light flashed once and NEVER came back on? When I initially plug it in it flashes just momentarily and the heating coil warms just when the light flashed...
I have an LG and I was also wondering where is the best place to put the fan? My husband put it right on top pointing down but I dont know if that is the best place for it.
I have a simple computer fan, Its a 2" one I got off of ebay. I was hoping someone could post some pictures of how to do it? I read on a thread on here about using a cell charger for the power source and not having to wire it into the Incubator. I am open to learning how to do it either way. I...
Ok so I have a idea, I was joking about my broody that is setting on a golf ball, Ok it was funny to start with but I really feel bad for her because she is wasting her time there
So my question is should I go ahead and put some good fertile eggs under her and let her give it a shot? It does...
I am on day 19 of my incubation on my 42 black copper marans eggs. These are from my girls and I was really excited about the colors of the eggs. I had some difficulty trying to candle them. Most looked really good so I didnt want to toss good eggs and none had any odor So I put all of them...
I have a question... I have four silkies in a rabbit hutch that I put plastic on all the the exposed sides. Now I live where the temps could get down to -15 at night. It is warming up lately. I am just wondering if this is going to be enough heat for them? I have straw covering the entire bottom...
Ok so I have a strange question, I have two silkies and I am not positive how old they are, I got them this summer and they were hatchery stock. They might be 9 months at the oldest. I got an egg the other day that was very small. It looked like a starter egg for sure, it had no yolk, I have...
