I would wait a few more days - sometimes wing feathers growing in can look odd - just familiarize yourself with the wrapping so you'll be ready just in case. Remember not to wrap too tight, if you need to. And @Miss Lydia are those your new beauties???

We humans need to intervene to protect every member of the flock. The youngsters need to be separated from the drake. A temporary fence often works well - they can see each other but no one gets hurt. Like with most of us, hormones play a big part in duck behavior. Understanding that, duck...

I have Runners, too, and a Buff drake. Generally, drake behaviors overlap quite a bit across breeds. There are mellow drakes and aggressive drakes of every breed as far as I can tell from my reading and conversations with other duck keepers. So, some Call drakes are mellow, some not. Some...

You need to watch carefully, especially once the weather is warm. There are people who have pairs that do fine together. But there are people who have seen drakes go after one female and harm or even mortally wound her. If you suspect any harm - any harm - to any of your ducks, you can...

Well. I have not had fall ducklings. However, right now I do have Sieben, Hazel and Romy molting up a storm, and little two-pound Rowena, her first autumn into winter with us. Generally what I do is manage for the least cold-hardy. This late morning (45F, partly sunny, light breeze) I...

You will need to monitor. At first they may need help - it took a few months for Rowena to get her feathers in good enough shape to repel water. At first she got completely soaked and had to be towelled off.

I would hold off on the DE if you have not seen mites…. If they have not had water to wash in, their feathers will not be in good condition. Also, if they have not been fed a nutritious diet, that will do it, too. I use a watering station with a stew pot so the Runners can wash up. I put...
