Mothergoose,
Do you still have any of those black copper chicks? We had some major losses over the holiday and I'm trying to rebuild the flock....

Great to meet so many BYC folks at the show! I'm so glad I went. I wanted to come home with a few chickens but was kind of disappointed that so many of the birds were in trios and pairs. I didn't really want any more roos.
LovesmyChix - So pleased that your daughter loves the frizzle and...
STEPH!!! You know I am totally willing to trade with you! You get first dibs if you tell me what you want before I take 'em to the show! After all, you did give us Elvis and Tarzan (btw Elvis appears to be starting to use his foot again, so maybe he will get better).
Forgot this little guy! He's kind of rust and black mixed. I think he'll be quite handsome. Not 100% sure it's a he but I think so.
Edited to say he's also 3 weeks younger than the rest.
Here they come! They were hatched Oct 6 so they are 7 weeks old and these pics were taken about 10 minutes ago. I woke them up (they are in the brooder in the barn) so they might not be quite at their best!

Here are several in the brooder with the Sicilians and the silkies.
I believe my frizzles are bantams. They came from Dipsydoodledoo on BYC and here is her page showing her adult birds.

My silkies are normal silkie size.
My Sicilian buttercups are bantams.
They hatched on October 6. They will be 7 weeks old, tomorrow. They are barred rock in appearance. I have two splash but they are roos. The others are all barred rock looking frizzles. I can take pix if you want to see them. I also have two black frizzles with red tints to them that...
I would LOVE to buy your golden laced wyandottes! I don't have much to trade, but I am going to the show. I have a few silkies but they are all quite young and I don't know their gender yet. I have blue, black, partridge and white. I know I have a white that is likely a roo. I have a bunch...
Sorry to hear about your hen - that is very sad. I am sure your daughter will just love the new chicks to pieces though. Hopefully that will help lift her spirits (and yours!)
I think we are going to the Iowa City show but I probably won't bring anything to sell because I don't have purebreds...
We are definitely going to the Iowa City show - sounds like fun. We are just starting getting into poultry and enjoy seeing all the breeds and deciding what we'd like to try.
I have another one pipped right now, and another one that looks like it broke the membrane inside, so hoping it will pip soon. I think the other 3 eggs are not as ready - their air cells are still too small for imminent hatch. :-)
