I agree Joe is male.....you can see some thinner strands of feathers starting in the crest also, with wattles that big compared to Moe I think you are doomed to have a boy sorry! On my boys the wattles have always been the dead giveaway.

Your solid yellow is likely a splash.....you should post pics for opinions on gender, color is not really a factor as much as crest.....and in about 4-5 weeks wattles...

    I have to talk POLISH!

Wow it is sad that you guys have lost so many birds and are 'stuck' with that disease for so long! Scary, now I am really hesitant to bring new birds in, I mostly hatch all of mine from boughten fertile eggs.....so far I have never lost a chicken, and they have been really healthy, and when i...

    I have to talk POLISH!

Well you just start looking for those red wattles to come in (If they are not bearded). Otherwise the crest shape will tell you MOST of the time.....if that does not work you wait for the crow or the egg lol. By crest and wattles I can usually be pretty sure by 8 weeks, by 12 weeks it is...

    I have to talk POLISH!

Hey Sphinx! Mine are bearded as well, look just like yours.....bearded are tough because the wattles do not give them away. My other Polish roo crowed at 12 weeks, so just hope it goes as long as possible :P These are really hard to tell! Also watch really close up in their feathers along...

    I have to talk POLISH!

Ahhhh do that! i would love to see how these turn out. It is fun to have a hatch with lots of identical babies, I hatched out 11 wheaten ameraucanas a couple weeks ago and they were all white/light yellow and it was just this giant mass of fluff and cuteness. :)
  18. La Casa de Pollo

    I have to talk POLISH!

You won't hear crowing for awhile.....I think usually about 12 weeks plus at the earliest.....If they are only 6 weeks old that is a boy for SURE! No doubt at all. Pretty pair for sure! Those little white babies do look like they could be be buff laced or splash,....very cute! i am in love...

    I have to talk POLISH!

Ummmm the one with the red wattles should be a boy, unless it is getting awfully old......are they over 4 months? The other one if it is the same age, would be female due to the lack of redness......their crests are those gray area hard to identify ones, some are so obvious and some just keep...

If the crest feathers are really rounded on the tips that is a good sign. Pointier tips also are signs of boyishness :) I have also noticed that the bearded Polish roos get red later so they can fool you into thinking they are girls a little longer.
