Yeah, two of the numbers were disconnected and the other one (Maybe Joe) didn't have a mailbox set up so I could leave a message. I will keep trying. Thanks!
Greetings, all on this lovely spring day! I am looking for someone in the nearby vicinity who is certified to do Pullorum testing. I will be getting certified myself next month, but would like to have my birds tested now if possible so I can go ahead and get my NPIP. I am about 60 miles north...
It is really hard to not want to help. They are so cute and fluffy! I always tell myself I won't help, but if something is obvious, I always try to. Guess I need to work on that. My fiancé says, "when you have livestock, you have deadstock". It is just part of it.
Thanks, all for the info on canning meat. I will definitely have can some of the meaties I am raising. We just butchered a steer so the deep freeze is FULL. We plan on getting a couple of feeder pigs in spring. I am thinking we will need a second deep freeze. Guess I will have to hit...
Chickie update: The chick that pipped wrong way round had not made any progress after 24 hrs. I finally took it out of the 'bator and carefully removed the shell in a ring around the original pip, then put it back. Around midnight it finally hatched and seems healthy, although one foot is...
Okay, so the one that pipped wrong way is just hanging out. It hasn't moved its position, but it is alive and active. A second one hatched with the umbilicus still attached to the shell. It dragged that around for a while, but it has finally broken. Looks a bit red and raw. Hope it will not...
Thanks, Delisha! I have my fingers crossed. Humidity is sitting around 60-65%. If I were closer to you, I would buy the chicks, but I am pretty sure Racine is quite a drive from me. Have a beautiful day!
Woke up to two pipped eggs today! However, one pipped the wrong end. He is moving around and peeping so I won't worry about it for now. Seems to be getting enough air. I have never had this happen, so not sure of what the odds are of it making it out of the shell. Any input is welcome.
Calling for snow tomorrow. It is perfectly clear out now, but who knows? Today was GORGEOUS! Sunny and clear, but still too cold to ride, not to mention all the ice. Last time I went out my horse went wonky and fell on me.
I can't wait for it to get warm again. I am getting eager to get...
Urgh! We just throw 'em out. Well, I do. My guy leaves them lying in the stalls. Talk about insult to injury; first have 'em cut off then be made to sleep with them! Poor guys...
Five out of ten Choc Cuckoo Orp eggs made it to lockdown today! Praying they all make it to hatch. So...
