You always want to work on making them look like basketballs. A nice round shape to the body. Sometimes in teh juvenile stage they look like crap but if they were nice as a youngster you can wait out the juvie ugly stage and at around a year old or so you will get that basketball look again. If...

There aren't any Mille Fleur LF Cochin. Some people have tried to work on them but it takes specific varieties to get started and those are hard enough to find. Orpington in this related pattern are called Jubilee and there are breeders of those out there but they are pricey and in demand. Try...

Looks like a cross of a Brahma and possibly a Cochin. The comb is correct for a Cochin but the tail and legs are not. Look up Brahma.

Whoa! That is weird! I had another Carrie say they saw my MF on BYC and said they lived in Florence SC and wanted eggs, chicks or a trio. I had to go back and look to make sure. I answer quite a few emails every day asking and since your location does not show under your avatar I thought you...

Thanks, MindyLee. She did email me and lives 3 to 4 hours away but could not swing the $40 to $65 for a pair or trio plus the drive here and we did not even get to the price of eggs so I am sure that would not be an option. I do see notices come through my email from BYC but rarely respond...

I rarely come on this thread anymore. I have slowed down in hatching the past 2 years and am getting down to even less in the next few months. My health won't allow me to work as hard but I still have the farm to run so many of my pens are being sold to free up the time and energy for all that...

I didn't hatch many MF this year. I do less and less as the market becomes saturated with the culls and people think they have MF. I hatched just enough to evaluate what I would get from certain crosses and am keeping those back to grow up for myself. I am getting better pattern but am still...

She is bred the same as your Peppermint! Probably sisters! Xavier was hatched here in 2009. He is my oldest MF rooster and a foundation of my bloodlines. I call him an old man but I have two 8 year old Silkie roosters still producing great. I had several "breeders" tell me at the start that...

My older gentleman, Xavier. Still going strong and still producing offspring, though not at the moment with all the broodies and molting hens. But this year he fathered a good many from the MF Frizzle hens.

I really like your Feather and your Mottled looking boy. I have a cockerel that looks like Ranger but he won;t be staying here. He is from a pet pen that the hens hatched out. You are really getting some great type on your birds! Love them, Mike!

Some of the kids in a sale pen. I haven't hatched near as many MF this year as I usually do but still seem to be selling the majority growing up because they are not what I want or need. Though I haven't hatched as many MF Frizzles as usual, I still am getting some awesome offspring. It...

Love seeing all the beautiful birds! Such cuties! And the coloring gorgeous! I don't get on here much, usually only when I have to answer PMs so I try to catch up when I can. Here is a blue Mille Fleur Frizzle pair I just posted on my FB page for sale. They are pretty but I am not into blue...

Xavier produces really nice type on his offspring. This little lady is 7 months old, laying like mad and will soon be put in with Quincy for more gorgeous MF babies. Quincy's daughter looks a lot better when she isn't moving. She is very typy for a 5 mth old, has really good pattern for...

That partridge gene jumped in there and went wild. One of my MF girls growing up that came out of Quincy. The type is still there but now I will be fighting to clean up the color in some of my birds. Too much red in my birds already, even with a lot of MF/Mottled crosses.
