The judges need to check the profile of a New Hamp....they don't look like Rocks. Yours don't look like Rocks, but judges are picking that type. You can't go wrong my sticking to the Standard. Walt

They should have a 45 degree angle tail but some judges are going for the low tailed birds.

I would not have had this kind of success without getting a start with Kathy Bonham's well bred NH's. The offspring are much better than the parents. ..that is a great direction to go. The more these win the more the judges take them seriously instead of going automatically to the white Rocks...

Great! Every win is a good thing for the New Hamps. 7 shows so far here and the worst placing was one Res American, best result-Res of Show. None of these are Fair shows......all have been California National points shows. The wins have been about equal between the boys and the girls. I have...

We had Res Large too, but this is going to be tough this next weekend. I haven't run into the good large White Rocks yet. So far two shows (2 best American 2 Res American and one Best Large and one Res Large Fowl). 4 different birds. I think some of the chicks I got from you this season will be...

I would guess that the birds I have are not 100percent German. They weigh 9lbs at 7 months and look developed enough to show. The first birds from Kathy came to me as a gift from a local byc member. The males in that batch took almost a year before they could be shown. Using the male from that...

Thanks to Kathy Bonham in MO for doing all the ground work on my birds. Kathy is the breeder who produced one of the best NH males in recent times. I saw the bird at her place before she sent it off and it was an easy bird to pick out of a group. I am very happy with the females I am getting and...

Not until this time of year, I will separate them this next week.. I have a way of keeping them distracted. I have some really crazy Runner ducks in with them and they spend most of the day keeping out of the way of ducks running crazily around the inclosure. It seems to keep their mind of each...
