I want to know what happened to the original Cochin.. they sound like an awesome bird.. It doesn't sound like the modern Cochin would have absorbed them.

I was told that Bamachicken got out of red a few years ago, or thats what she told me. Her reds came from a guy in SC and Jimmy Swanson. I wrote her to get some history on some of the rose combs I have. This is what I was told

Found it.. and it says that judges don't care one way or the other.. which doesn't answer the question how did some get white legs to start with? And how can they be shown if they don't meet standard.

Can anyone tell me why RIRs don't have yellow legs anymore, and how or why they lost that? I know of only one strain of birds that still have it with the drak red over lay on the legs. all the other birds I see have the pearl legs with red over lay. Can anyone give me the history of Swanson's Rose comb flock He lived in FL and dispersed his flock. I now have some of those birds and would like to know more about them.

In Last Feb or March I will have rose comb and single comb eggs for LF Rhode island reds. The eggs will be mixed however. If anyone wants to be put on a list I will have a limited amount of eggs.
