My garden is still mud. And more rain coming later today. My 5 dwarf fruit trees that I planted last summer, survived the winter and that makes me very happy.

Thanks for your input. 3 of the chicks flew over the pen yesterday and spent the day outside with the big girls. (Now the pen had bird netting over it) But the big ones didn't seem to pick on those 3 so I'm thinking that is good. The coop is 9x10 and the chicken yard is 1500 sq feet

Finally got caught up on this thread and good to see everybody "survived" that minus temp weather and those bad snowstorms. Raining here for the next 3 days....ugh. I knew I should have mowed the lawn last weekend. All of my 8 hens survived the winter...they are a year old now. And I got...

Congrats bl4, I bet that's a relief! I've been trying to sell one of late hubby's properties since 8/31 and the buyer is playing games. I spent an hour today using my sawzall to cut down a stump level to the ground. I wish I would have thought of this earlier in the year before the...

Must be Fall because I hauled out all my cross-stitching projects to work on over the winter. I have so much stash I'll have to be 300 years old in order to finish it all. I still need to get the garden tilled under and the grass cut one last time, but it's been too wet. Pullets are still...

Thanks Jean. The guy in Middleton that was going to build my coop in May kept postponing and then backed out. I had to find somebody else to build one....it is almost done. Right now they are in a large Formex coop with a small run in my garden that is surrounded by deer fencing. Their new...

One of my dogs got at a chicken (22 week old pullet) this morning and tore the tail feathers out. Chicken was pretty freaked out and is now just sitting in one of the nest boxes in the coop resting. There were some drops of blood on her butt and a couple on her legs. What should I do about...

When I bought my house last year, they left the old washer & dryer. The dryer didn't work well so i replaced it. The washer works great and I'll bet it is at least 15 yrs old...I hope I don't have to replace it in the future. At the last place I lived, I had to buy a new washer and...
