Good to know, as we were not thrilled with the Red Roof this time, even though this was our third time there, and the price is so good.

Finally home and unpacked! SO great seeing all of my friends at this show - and the weather was surprisingly wonderful! I could have left my long johns at home! What a great collection of birds - some truly spectacular animals. Can I hear a shout out for the large gathering of Faverolles...

Whew! What a great day! Reserve Continental with my Fav pullet, BoB with my Speckled Sussex hen, RB for my Jersey Giant hen, BV each for my blue and black mottled cochins. Got some of the kids pics taken - as much fun as with my human children. Great to see Pete Brown, as always. NEWS...

There is only an exhibitor's list. I always bring a pen and take note of the birds I like by putting a check nest to exhibitor's name on the list, then writing the breed next to it. Trust me, you'll never remember later when you get home. Another way to do it is to take a picture of the bird...

There is a separate area for the sale birds, but they are only for exhibitors - it's not just a general sale.

Thanks for all the restaurant ideas, people! We're sure to pick someplace good now! Littlecritters, by late afternoon at the Sussex show, either the birds or the wind had taken down most of the signs - they're all there in the morning. (They have to be, or no one would know where to put their...

Speaking of dinner, where's a good local place to go with a group? We have a plethora of diners in NJ - is there one near the showgrounds we could go to?

Sorry about your birds - I lost one of my favorite girls to a hawk a few weeks back. I wanted to warn you, a friend of mine caught a hawk some years ago and drove it over four hours away. It was back within the month. So, be prepared. BTW - how did you manage to catch it?

Buyers, Please keep in mind that there is no set time for the sale area to open. No one can say who will be selling what, and what time they will be there. The show only sells the space - they have no idea what that breeder is selling. When the exhibitors get done with their show birds will...

Question answered above. Tip: You can get some great cups in the small animal section of Petsmart for water for the boxes. The cups have those bent wires for hanging. Cut a long horizontal slit, about 3/4 high, across a side of the box, and hang the wires in the exposed corrugated...

Going to try and answer a few of the newbie questions and comments I saw on here - I hope I don't miss one. First - for the person who said they might wear a funky t-shirt if it's not too cold. Good luck with that - you'll have to wear it over your parka. While they attempt to heat the...

Good for you, Roberta! I have officially lost my mind - I have 14 LF and 1 bantam on my entry list. It's only that short because the others are still molting. Where the heck am I going to put all of these wet birds in this weather?! Who's up for a bird-bathing party?
