Well, I bit the bullet and tried chamomile tea for the first time in years. I still like Earl Grey better. The chamomile tastes a bit like you would try to make tea out of your lawn.
The right way, straight up. None of that honey, sugar, milk or lemon wedge stuff for me.
About composting, you could always bury the stuff you don't want the chickens to get to a bit deeper in the pile. I compost in a hot composter, so the birds can't get to it, but they do like to dig around...
Apparently the numerous coffee threads have a competitor here on BYC. I too am a polysubstance abuser, I drink both coffee and tea. When it comes to tea, I'm a bit of a purist, I really don't like much else than Earl Grey. None of that ginger lemon berry green chai stuff for me, thank you.
