I have no ineterest in looking at additional sebrights, we breed and raise them for my middle son who likes to show them, and I will openly admit I cannot wait until he is no longer interested in them or moves out so I can be rid of the sebrights.
I never said there were not good ones, just none that I had seen and that does not mean a picture as a picture never tells the story of the bird, see it in person and in teh hand. I have seen some good pics.

I was merely giving you some where to look since you said you hadn't seen any good Buff Sebrights. I didn't say you had to buy the ones they have for sale or even consider it. That was just to show you that there are some out there. Yes, I realize there is a difference between a picture and seeing in person, and I was only trying to help. Obviously you didn't want it.

Thanks so much for the website suggestion. Now that I've seen some good ones I can easily tell how my rooster is not of good type. This is exactly what I need to be able to see in my other breeds as well to help me learn the differences in good and bad type.

Thanks!

I finally found the sebright thread. I am going to post some pics of my golden sebrights. I hatched quite a few this year and have some good roos left for sale.

My silver roo died of unknown causes a little over a week ago. None of the three hens he was housed with are showing any signs of disease. I have two silver chicks and am hoping one is a roo, to replace him. I have several more eggs in the incubators and I hope to get more chicks. I'm still puzzling over Le'Roi's death - he had no peck marks, nothing. Any idea what might have happened to him? Are Sebrights prone to any conditions or diseases other than Mareks? *sigh*

Could be anything, a wasp could have stung him or a spider could have bit him. He could have gotten spooked and had a heart attack. So sorry about losing your roo. I hope nothing happens to mine. When you found him was he on his back with his wings sort of spread and legs sticking up, if he was like that it was probably a heart attack. He could have fallen off a perch at night and broke his neck. Was he any where near where they sleep. Also were there any ants on him when he died?

My first year all of them I hatched survived except 2. And that was out of 30. We have them separate from the rest when they are a day old and we take them out of the incubator as soon as we see they hatched. It works pretty well.

I was scared away when you said you only had Roos left, no hens....

(Just teasing. But I am in need of some hens; I have one silver hen and two silver Roos. I did have one golden hen, but she broker her neck in the coop under circumstances I would surmise were just as described.)

I would love a couple more hens, silver AND gold. My Alice is such a dear! Alex is good, if loud, but George is an obnoxious little Napolean.
