Another Color Question

I was told that the white flight feathers signified that the bird was white eyed. Now i'm really confused, this stuff is much harder than horse genetics. I miss Deerman.

Sorry about this, its off topic, but on this page is an advertisement for an automatic door opener with an optional photo sensor. What is the good of having a door if its set to open when something crosses the photo sensor? What am I missing here? I'm dumb, I just realized it was light operated, not motion.

So if I have a bird with white primaries and a throat patch it's a dark pied?
Not necessarily. Both split to white and dark pied can exhibit the same white primaries and throat patch. To truly identify which it is, a selective breeding must be done. Breeding one of these hens with a male that is white will show you whether it is dark pied or split to white. If dark pied, you will get 100% pied offspring, if split to white, you will get 50% white offspring and 50% split to white offspring. You would only have to hatch one egg to determine that with this particular breeding.

Okay on an older topic Deerman said:

You can also get dark pied from mating two dark pied birds together.
