Chicken math

I started with 6 chicks from atwoods last April. Now I have almost 100 chickens. I just hatched out my first batch of eggs, some Buff-black tailed Marans I traded a rabbit for... now Im afraid Im addicted to the incubator...

Going to start 15 more eggs this weekend, EE Roo with my Blue Americauna hens.

So I started with 12 on Tuesday. I have 6 on the way to me as I type (gotta love your dad out running errands!). This could get ugly fast. I already had planned on 2-4 more next week. Hubby is gonna kill me.

BAHAHA! I went to get MAYBE 12 chicks... 5 ducklings and 20-30+ chicks, don't count the nine grown chickens-that makes 41 poultry...good thing some of them are tiny! Mind you, I still want more.

Same here....We wanted 13 max..Have 4, bought 7 more.I have 15 shipping on monday..And another 14 or 15 coming at the end of May....And I also want more...

So it started with 10 tiny babies about 4 weeks ago, they moved to the big coop this past Friday and my brooder was empty and I missed the tiny cheeps so off to tsc I went and my Local store was sold out of course

so off to the next closest one, 45 minutes away. They had some definite cuties! So we picked the 10 we wanted and that left 6 babies all alone, well the kids weren't having that so add the other 6 and away we went. Well hubby decided he wanted bunnies so yesterday we got four new Zealand babies and guess where we had to go for supplies, yep TSC! I told myself I would avoids the cheeping bins but I just had to look! Omg barred rocks, silkies and cochins! So 6 more chicks lmao. We lost 2 from the second batch of 16 but we knew even with all our help they probably wouldn't make it. So 2 brooders, 20 babies, one big coop and run with 10 big goofy teenagers and 4 bunnies later, I think we have a problem lmao.

Sounds like chicken math is a contagious illness but I can't get any of my friends and/or coworkers to catch it. They just need to get those first few chicks and they will understand our obsession and be hooked.

Chicken math update: my hatch went incredibly! I'm up to 26 now lol. My only lavender orpington was born early this morning but my lemon cuckoo Orpingtons ALL hatched lol. Here are a couple pictures of the cuteness :)
