95 the first week and then drop 5 degrees a week until feathered.


The condensation on the glass says that the humidity is much higher than 70%. Too high starved them of oxygen.

OK . . .so how can I reduce humidity quickly??

Well, I'm pretty devastated. That last minute temp spike killed every chick but the one who has hatched. I saw no movement so I carefully opened all the eggs and all were dead. Some had internally pipped and were perfect and would have hatched if not for that temp spike. I am so sad.

I have one egg that sill needs to pip. it is the only egg that has not hatched yet.

I was playing around this morning with some eggs!

thanks for the help guys! my brooder is at 95. I didn't realize how small it is for these chicks... it will be fine for now but I might have to set up another one lol. where did everyone get big storage totes? I got the biggest one at Wal-Mart and they are gonna out grow it soon

well at around 1:30 am my first chick hatched, then another at 3 am and when I fell asleep a third was in the process. now I just woke up at 7:30 am to 5 chicks running around and 2 unzipping

Glad you got one! We hatched 4 a few weeks ago. They are noisy. They have a low chatter going all the time.
