This is my black Am from Susan's farm. He is only nine months old. I love how he stands so tall and proud all of the time.

i didn't used to like americanas but then i acidently got one in a bunch of mixed breeds. she didn't have her head feathers at the time. i did not know how adorable they were. now i want more. mine is brown. I call her Hawk, because she looks like a hawk.

When do cockerels start to crow? Mine are 15-16 weeks and not one of the 4 have crowed yet.

Brown is not an accepted APA pure Ameraucana color. Sounds like you got a sweet Easter Egger. EEs are adorable too with muffy cheeks and kooky personalities! Post pics here and we'll be able to tell you for sure! You're right about the Hawk look. We thought ours looked like baby owls!

I have a cockerel that just turned 22 weeks... only just started crowing this last week... some start earlier, some later...

That's good to know. I like hearing them crow in the morning. My neighbors roosters crow all the time so I was worried that mine haven't started.

I'm breeding amrucanua but I call them RE cuz only 1 is true

More of the silver AM's are starting to lay and the saturation is getting better.
