We are having periodic blasts of rain I woke up at 4.30 and was pleased I did because I got out in time to clean a feed the birds just before the downpour plus the dog and cat got out before the skys opened up

I lied. Excessive Heat Warning today! Heat index of 110 F- 115 F. Looks like the chickens will spend a lovely afternoon in my shower.

It is the actual temperature that counts for chickens. The heat index does not apply.

Me and my 2 boys had a go at magic custard cake, but it didnt really turn out. Would have prob turned out better if we had a mixer. Some recipes just dont turn out when mixed by hand.

It has more of a sweet crust on top.

I ended up with just under 3" of rain during the night. It was hitting so hard at 1 AM that it sounded like hail on the skylights.

When I checked Wunderground this morning, they had flood warnings in certain areas.

I didn't get that much, but am glad to have what I got!
