We did that one year. I found a recipe in a winemaking book so we made a batch of the most delicious sparkling hard cider. My uncle has a press and rigged a washing machine motor to the grinder and boy howdy was that nice!I have a press coming so I can make cider.

Wow, we have a few every year! I think we've had 4 or 5 already this year. We bought a generator years ago, and it has saved a lot of food in the fridge and freezer, that's for sure.We have not had an outage in years, though.
I love those. Honeycrisp are great (but expensive to buy), and so are Empire, with their tangy taste. You can also dry them to make apple chips.
I love applesauce and peanut butter on toasted raisin bread topped with a sliced banana and sprinkled with cinnamon for breakfast ... Not hungry again till afternoon.I have a ton of apples that keep yelling at me. I was thinking of freezing some for pie, and maybe baking a pie or a crisp or a crumble. In past years I’ve made applesauce but we just don’t eat it up fast enough.
We used to have them quite often! About two years ago our electric co-op came through and put in all new lines and high lines as well. The only time we have lost power since then was in an electric storm when lightning struck a pole and took the whole top third of it off! It sounded like it struck right outside the house, but it was about a quarter mile away. Scary, sure made everybody jump!Wow, we have a few every year! I think we've had 4 or 5 already this year.
