I just had a very successful hatch so this should help the % a bit.

Broody Hens
#eggs = 97 + 9 = 106
#chicks = 48 + 8 = 56
Average Hatch Rate = 52.8%

Incubator Hatchers
#eggs = 19 + 405 = 424
#chicks = 15 + 182 = 197
Average Hatch Rate = 46.4%

Overall Hatch Rate
#eggs: 424 + 106 = 530
#chicks: 197 + 56 = 253
AHR = 47.7%

Had a bad hatch. *sigh*

Broody Hens (unchanged from last post)
#eggs = 106
#chicks = 56
Average Hatch Rate = 52.8%

Incubator Hatchers
#eggs = 424 + 14 = 438
#chicks = 197 + 0 = 197
Average Hatch Rate = 44.97%

Overall Hatch Rate
#eggs: 438 + 106 = 544
#chicks: 197 + 56 = 253
AHR = 46.51%

I have enjoyed watching this thread, and really anything above a 50% hatch should be considered a bonus! However, with all averages, sometimes it is quite a bit worse, and quite a bit better.

#chicks = 56 + 4 = 60
Average Hatch Rate = 51.7%

Incubator Hatchers (unchanged from last post)
#eggs = 438
#chicks = 197
Average Hatch Rate = 44.97%

Overall Hatch Rate
#eggs: 438 + 116= 554
#chicks: 197 + 60= 257
AHR = 46.4%

So I have given up on my broody's remaining eggs... But how to count?
She began with 10. I removed 2 after candling and finding no development. One was kicked out of the nest and broken. One hatched.
Do I call this 1/10, or 1/7?
Let me know what you think and I will post the stats.

I would call it 1/9 - had they been left uncandled, only the broken one wouldn't have reached hatch date, however it's completely up to you.
1/10 or 1/9 or 1/7 isn't going to skew the numbers hugely and it's the average that counts.
