A while back there was a lot of controversy over Purina feeds. Chickens fed with this slowed down their laying. It also happened with Dumor feeds. I read that there was going to be a study on the feeds with a comparison to other feeds. Does anyone know about this? I have not ever seen anything on it. I know at that time I was using Dumor. I swapped to Kalmbach and I have never looked back. My chickens went to laying more. The Kalmbach feeds cost less than the Dumor where I was buying it so another benefit. Anyone?

Hello! I use Kalmbach feed too! it is great and my chickies love it! They just don't like the pellets, they like the crumble! My picky little baby's!

Same! I went through a Purina and Dumor phase because that's all my local TSC sells. So now I don't buy feed from TSC. My hens look healthy and lay consistently now that I've landed on the feed that works best for them - Kalmbach 20% Flock Maker. That said, read anything on feed from U_Stormcrow. There are some wicked smart people on BYC....

I do not know about that. I do recall feed samples being sent for testing. Results were as stated on the tag.
This is correct.

Links to some of the threads I participated in (because they are easier for me to find).

Here's the post I used to get the data for the post above, with link to the video:

This is one I started to test an alternative theory -

One BYCer at their own expense, sent feed to be tested which was provided by others:

That should help get your reading started @Mr Coffee . Kalmbach is a fine feed, by the way. Very popular here on BYC with a certain subset, though some of it (the whole grains varieties) have a few easily addressed issues.

Have you tried the Reserve? I used it for a treat. I tried putting it in the feeders but they threw out the pellets and just ate the Reserve. I now give them fermented scratch and they love it.
