Have you tried ACV in her drinking water? When my gander punctured his bill I put ACV into his bucket it healed fine 1-2 tab to 1 gal of water.

I use AVC intermittently, they have AVC in their water now thanks Miss Lydia.

Mine got black bruising on bill when they'd fight or jam bill against something or puncture.

Cleo my lilac hen has decuded the nest box is a good place ro sleep again. Its at least three feet off tge ground so she must feel safe.

Ok, are these lavenders? I found them for sale but want to know what they are before I drive over 3 hours, one way, for them.

They are lavenders and nice ones at that! It's hard to find them in solid colors. I'm not familiar with the pearl grey color. It could be a common name for silver. Lavenders are an even dark grey. Silvers are lighter and often uneven in color. They can show a brown tint to them as well.

I think I am going to drive down and purchase at least one hen so that I have the lavender gene in my flock. I haven't bred any of them yet so I am not sure what hidden traits they may carry. I am pretty excited about this upcoming Spring.

I want to combine the lilac, lavender and barred genes and see what I can get.
