Mine aren't laying yet although at 18 weeks now their comb areas have turned redder and purple on some of the pullets. I've been checking daily since seeing the cockerels trying to do their thing.

I love my sebright I only have one left a hen they don't do to good in the winter as I found out I lost 3 of them over this winter but I am hoping to be getting more thus spring. But I hope not to have any more mean rosters my sebright rooster I had would chase me from the coop to my frount door it would even attack my 120 pound Rottweiler  who just played along.

I've never had the pleasure of owning a Sebright rooster but the ones at the place we got our pullets from were definitely little punks.

They were trying to get at my hubby through the fence. XD

As for the winter, I think it depends on coop/run setup and flockmates.

My two girls got along fine this winter. Even when it dropped to 19 below one night and we didn't have a day in double digits for a couple of weeks.

They did have the 8 other full sized chickens to snuggle up between on the roosts though.
