Not a huge fan of this breed but I had a bunch of them, none anymore,
only have hybrid offspring of theirs now :}

I had just finished a discussion with my child (the SS were 'given' to her after chickens that were her favorite seemed to die after she named them) about seeing how chick sales go this Spring/Summer then deciding whether or not to keep this breed come Fall. We went out to collect eggs from anyone that may have decided to to start laying and instead find a bloody bantam house! The dominant cockerel that had already killed (unseen but figured out) another cockerel last week was bleeding from one toe on each foot. It looked like he kicked hard and flipped the toenails back too far because a small fleshy looking piece was poked up under both nails. Took it a bit to stop bleeding but he had to go into solitary so no one would peck at his feet. They remind me of tiny carnivorous dinosaurs.....;-)

Here's a picture of our Sebrights. We have 7 gold and 7 silver. They are 1 1/2 weeks old. We really do enjoy watching them. They are very active.
