...I have seen a few people have chickens here, but no clue who/where to ask if it is "legal". VERY small town, heck there are horses in the field on the other side of my neighbor's house. Where does one normally check? Or should I just get them...

We are just wanting a couple of bantams, we used to live in the country and had tons of poultry, I was a member here when we had the old BYC forum.

You'll want to check your town's city codes and ordinances to find out. That could be by calling your town government, or their website (if they have one). You can ask someone with chickens as well, but asking the local government would be the most direct route. Good luck!

HMMM...I see nothing on the website (Pomona)...we have a city hall, I called there a year or 2 ago & the woman who answered said she didn't think they were allowed, but there are chickens in town. They are allowed in Gardner,Lawrence,Topeka,Edgerton, etc. etc. so I don't know why they wouldn't be here...
