I'm looking forward to next years Easter hatch. I promised DH I wouldn't start hatching again until the Easter hatch along at the earliest. New eggs from this years pullets are already calling my name to hatch them:p But alll my incubators are getting shut down and put away in just 4 days.

For next years hatch along I plan to hatch Cream Legbar, black and blue copper Marans, and possibly blue/splash silkies.

Anyone else already planning ahead?

Next year I will be breeding

Pita Pinta

Partridge Penedesenca

and Arkansas blues

The pita Pinta looks like a great bird. How large do they get? Do they have good personalities?

The cockerels grow quickly to 8 pounds or so and stop there. They are just a bit smaller than Bresse at 20 weeks old and will dress out close to 4 to 5 pounds then.

They are very friendly and smart. They are my favorite breed now.

What are you hatching for the NYD hatch a long?

Options from my place are Pita Pinta, Arkansas blue and Partridge Penedesenca.

I hope they are laying then!

When will the thread start for the NYD hatch along? If I can get in on it I will be hatching ducks and maybe some silkies

Oooooh! What will I hatch? There are so many want to try and only so many pens I can build! I would like to hatch Harlequin quail and Buttons and maybe Snowflake Bobs.
