The Silver Laced Wyandotte Thread

I picked up 8 this morning. I forgot to ask him what lines they were from. Am new to the breed, but am kinda excited to have them in my flock.

Hi all! This might have been asked but do SLW pullets grow wattles quickly? I have 3 that are 9 weeks old, was told they were pullets(feed store chicks). I am really hoping they are, I already got a surprise cockerel from my EE chicks! What does everyone think? Thanks!

With my SLW's, at 11-12 weeks, by the tail on their back, the males get this silvery (even flashy) feathering in. Pretty much it is their hackle feathers coming

in. After seeing that in the sun.. It was easy to tell who was male and who was female. These are some pics of my now 14 week old females

My 9.5 week old white leghorn started crowing today. Now I’m worried that both of the chicks my son brought home from school are boys... what do you think of this 10-11 week old SLW? Im currently looking for a new home for this beauty’s partner in crime. I will be so sad if I have to get rid of this one also.

After months of research and preparation, I decided on SLWs. My husband thinks they're meat chickens, but he is sorely mistaken. ;) They're 2.5 weeks right now and crazy energetic little peckerheads. Just wanted to share a picture or two. I hope they end up having beautiful lacing like some of the pictures in this thread.
