I have propane and would love a propane stove. Nothing cooks like
gas. Trouble is I already gutted and remodeled my kitchen and never
ran the propane lines.

The flat tops are definately nice but can't compete with propane.

Tease us with Sam. We tease you with food.

I believe you are right Sam.

We would love to can stuff ( we freeze ) but what we have heard about the glass tops keeps us from doing it. I am almost at a point of getting an stove out in the shop to can on. Mess wouldn't be in the house at least.

I've been shopping around a little for a new stove. I've always had electric, but the gas line to where my stove sits is still there and I've thought about getting a gas one instead. Pretty much all I use is my cast iron. My son and DIL got a gas stove and they haven't been very happy with it. The flame doesnt adjust very well at all. Theirs wasn't a real expensive one so I suppose that might make a difference. I've always bought all my appliances at a small local dealer because they've got such good repair service if you need it. They told me Whirlpool is the only company that will warrenty their glass top stoves if you use cast iron on it.
